About Bella Boo Ice Cream and Snowball Shop
Our Sweet Story
Bella Boo Ice Cream & Snowballs was built on family, community, and a love for Lakeview. Our family has deep roots here—we lived in Lakeview until Hurricane Katrina forced us to relocate. Even after leaving, part of our hearts were left behind. Opening this shop in the neighborhood we once called home means everything to us, and we’re so grateful to be back as part of the community.
The name “Bella Boo” comes from our newest family member, Bella—a sweet, sunshine-filled beagle mix that our son brought home in 2024. She’s the kind of pup that makes everyone smile, and we thought she was the perfect inspiration for a shop dedicated to spreading joy.
We’re a true multi-generational business, with grandparents, parents, and kids all working together to serve up happiness in every cup. Though our shop may be small, it’s filled with big hearts and even bigger smiles.
On our menu, you’ll find something for everyone—cookies, ice cream, and New Orleans-style snowballs. Our signature treat is “The Pothole,” a soft-serve dessert turned gourmet that comes in a variety of flavors. It’s a customer favorite and a Bella Boo original.
Being in Lakeview allows us to welcome friends not just from the neighborhood but from all across New Orleans. With ties to schools like Christian Brothers, Holy Cross and Mount Carmel Academy, and lifelong memories rooted in this community, it feels incredible to plant our family business here.
